Compact Arc Melter MAM-1

Designed for melting samples of approx. 10 - 20 g up to
3500°C, which is sufficient for most laboratory purposes.
Freely movable, water-cooled tungsten electrode.
Dismountable, water-cooled copper crucible plate with
diverse crucible shapes.
Easy to clean, easy to recharge with material to be molten.
Reliable ignition of the argon arc by a short contact of the
electrode with a tungsten pin on the copper crucible plate.
Pressure manometer and valves for evacuation and for gas
inlet into the arc melting chamber.
Powerful arc by the built-in power supply (max. 200 A).
Safety functions: the arc is switched off automatically if the
temperature of the copper crucible plate exceeds a given limit,
or if the eye protection cover is opened.
The complete system includes a small roughing pump (built-in).
Option: Special crucible for preparations of rodshaped samples.
